Well, now a mobile friendly design is more than just a courtesy; it has become a crucial element for any website\u2019s survival and success\u2026and a detriment to those that do not comply.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s the big deal?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Last month, for the first time ever, Google made <a title=\"Google Announcement\" href=\"http:\/\/googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.nz\/2015\/02\/finding-more-mobile-friendly-search.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this announcement<\/a>: <em>Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Basically, this means that websites currently accessible and easily navigable on mobile devices will receive a boost in Google\u2019s page ranking and those that are not designed with the mobile user in mind will suffer a hit.<\/p>\n<p>While Google\u2019s announcements typically come after changes have already taken effect (or with little warning), this announcement was made nearly 2 months prior to the algorithm\u2019s effective date, providing us plenty of time to make the necessary adjustments\u2026and stressing the importance and potential impact of this update.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Will Google\u2019s New Mobile-Friendly Search Rank Algorithm Affect <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Your<\/span> Site?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In a word\u2026YES.<\/p>\n<p>This will affect all websites.
